The meeting of the pilgrims with the Pope Leo XIV
The meeting of the representatives of four Russian Catholic dioceses with the Pontiff took place on October 17, during the Anniversary Vatican pilgrimage. The participants included Archbishop Paolo Pezzi, the Head of Archidiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow, as well as the Reverends Nikolai Dubinin, Clemens Pickel, Joseph Werth, and Stephan Lipke. In total, around one hundred people participated in the journey.
At the end of the visit, Reverend Stephan Lipke has noted the significance of the event:
"This meeting has granted us the strength and hope reminding us how important it is to maintain the spiritual unity of our Local Church".
In His message to the pilgrims the Pope has highlighted the significance of each member of the community:
"Each of us is like a stone in the Church's structure; even the smallest part is important for the sturdiness of the Church as a whole. Together we carry the joint responsibility before the Lord."
Then the pilgrimage participants together read the Lord's Prayer in Russian.
